Maybe Boston has rubbed off on me too much, but right now I’m thinking, why would anyone ever do a startup. Sure, the money. But who needs that much money? Sure, the rush of getting customers and making something valuable. Does it beat the rush of scientific discovery? Does it beat the rush of working on a new idea? Too much of a startup is not about the technology. I get excited by the tech and the tech alone. I don’t want to deal with hiring management payroll financial planning sales marketing product market fit. I make what *I* want to make. Product me fit. That’s what I want. Doing a startup is too much. Simply not worth the effort. My time is better spent doing what I do naturally.
