Mental energy

May 24th 2024

Conserving my mental energy for when I have time to work on my hobbies.

Loving my hobbies and doing them because I love them.

Not expecting anything to come out of them.

Letting them naturally take their course.

Giving myself time to do them.

Not spending too much of myself on work or on a large number of side things or a too active social life.

Not wasting too much mental energy worrying or envying or regretting.

Being ok with hobbies never being anything more than that.

Being ok with the consequence of not spending too much time at work - less money, less success, fewer nice things, not having as much as my peers.

So this means no grad school. No big tech. No high paying but overworked job.

Good works comes by iterating, and doing over and over. And chewing in one’s head. And taking in results. And chewing. And iterating. Small. There’s a rhythm. As bad as it may be. It evolves. Patience. And small steps. Each step reevaluating.
