Depression is our bodies' natural defense against something in our life we need to change. A sort of rememberall, but instead of telling us if we’re forgetting something, it tells us if something isn’t quite right in our lives.
Think about it: our body shuts down, it’s harder to do things, we get angry, irritable, tired, stressed. Can’t sleep. Our subconscious is reacting to something in our lives.
Dopamine, the energy that comes from it, the cycle of effort and reward and rest, all these things are symptoms of healthy, meaningful lives.
We might not know exactly what’s wrong, but our subconsciousness does.
